Smoking Cessation Programs

Quitting smoking is never easy, but it's easier if you have the help and support of others. Smoking cessation programs are programs that are designed to help you stop smoking. The following programs are approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Health to provide smoking cessation services in Lancaster County.

Types of smoking cessation programs and services include:

Fees and Financial Assistance
There is no fee for Smoking Cessation classes.

Group Programs
Freedom From Smoking® is a program developed by the American Lung Association, specifically designed for adults. This free program is a group clinic that has helped thousands of smokers to quit for good. Through this eight-week course, individuals are given support and tools, as well as access to free nicotine replacement therapy. Participants will receive nicotine replacement on weeks 2, 4, 6, and 8 of the class and encourage quitting on the fourth class.

One-on-One (Individual) Programs
One-on-one 15-30 minute sessions are offered free at community-based locations for individuals trying to quit smoking. During the session, the participant, with the assistance of a counselor, will focus on developing the skills necessary to be tobacco-free. Nicotine Replacement Therapy will be available free to participants.
