LifeSkills Training Program is a school based classroom intervention to prevent and reduce the use of tobacco. Students are also taught general self management, social skills and skills related to avoiding drug use. The program is delivered in 24 sessions in elementray and 30 sessions in middle/high schools over three years.

Alternative to Suspension (ATS) is a program for teens that violate school or community tobacco policies. It consists of 4 hours of education designed to develop a deeper awareness of the teen's relationship with tobacco. While it is not a quit program, it does emphasize the importance of quitting and suggests strategies to do so. ATS is held at the Wellness Center of Ephrata Community Hospital. Project Towards No Tobacco Use (TNT)- This is an evidence based program designed to prevent and reduce tobacco use in youth elementary through high school. The theory underlying project TNT is that youth will best be able to resist using tobacco products if they are: aware of misleading socials information on tobacco use; have skills that counteract other social pressures; and appreciate the physical consequences that tobacco use may have on their own lives.

Tobacco Smoke Pollution Education
The YWCA of Lancaster offers information and brochures on not smoking in homes, cars, workplaces, schools, restaurants and other places where the general public could reside.

Ephrata Community Hospital

The Alternative to Suspension Program- is a mandatory program designed to intervene with teens and their tobacco use. Teens learn how smoking poisons their bodies, the truth about addiction, and how to identify healthy lifestyles. Cessation resources are discussed and can be offered if appropriate

Not on Tobacco (NOT)- Teen Cessation program can be offered on site. The program consists of ten 50 minute modules which can be adapted to meet school schedules.

 

Teens Against Tobacco Use (T.A.T.U )- This is program is designed to have peers educate younger students the message that tobacco us is not cool. The program is six hours.

 

"Raising A Tobacco Free Kid"- A free 45 minute program for parents, can also be scheduled for parenting groups/ organizations
